Something from the Heart

When Leigh was 10, Morgan became her stepbrother when their parents married. The tall 18-year-old boy gave Leigh a warm welcome and showed her what it was like to belong to a loving family. Hero may have a case of terminal Insecure Jerkism 2  2

It would be a nice story if the hero weren’t an insufferably insecure jerk. Our hero can’t get it out of his head that the heroine’s mom, his step mother, is a obvious gold digger, despite the fact his dad seems happy with his wife and her love of his money. When he overhears the heroine being stupid, he throws away years of relationship with a girl he knew closely to come to jump to a new conclusion without even confronting her. From then on, he can’t deal with the heroine without making demeaning presumptions, and won’t give her the benefit of the doubt when she explains or even bothers to look at/for evidence contrary to his assumption, if he bothers to listen st all. You’ve got a letter? Not interested. He likes someone else. Too much trouble to ask. And then... and THEN, when they finally work things out, a single overheard comment is enough set him off all over again. Oh, they work out their issues and we have our traditional ‘happy ending’, but I fear for their relationship. He loves her now, but will he trust her enough to not make assumptions in the future? I wonder.

Great story! I've loved this couple! It was a pleasure to follow and discover page by page how the hero was trying to fight against some big misunderstandigs and his true feelings and the heroine was realizing her deep love towards him. So cute... I do advice you all to read it! (Moreover K. Fujita's art is my favourite one)...!
