Captive in the Millionaire's Castle

An up-and-coming mystery writer, Michael, has a strong dislike toward women after his divorce from his former wife, which is why he refused to hire a secretary despite his busy schedule. When his old friend introduces him to Jenny, he decides to hire her on the spot. Her talent as a secretary is one reason; another reason lies in her old ring with an engraving that catches his interest. Michael visits Slinterwood, a mansion on Mirren Island, with Jenny for plotting his next novel. Little do they know the ring will bring their fates together....

The story is not only about hero and heroine, but also their families. Heroine is introduced to be hero's personal assistant and they leave for countryside. Heroine finds herself similar with the house since it is the house she lived with her great grandmother in the childhood. Hero and she finally find out the secrets between their families.
The love story between hero and heroine is not relatively impressive; however the story of their families is romantic, though kind of sad.
I personally love the art. Although it is simple, it is very cute.

a decent, what it looks to be scottish modern day story 3  3

The hero needs an assistant, preferably a male assistant but he ends up with the heroine. At first, he's hesitant but he finds her to be a hard and kind worker. They go to his private island where he writes on his next book. During this time, the two of them open up to each other about their past with bad lovers and more. They also start to become attracted to each other that eventually leads to the bedroom. They also find it strange that the heroine knows where things are in the mansion on the island, but she's never been to the island till the hero took her. Things take for a turn when the hero's currently she's his wife but they're in the process of a divorce that she won't sign the papers pops in to win the hero back and finds the heroine in bed. She says the usual lies of how the hero and her are back together. The heroine believes and leaves. The hero kicks the wife who will sign the papers since he has hardcore evidence of her cheating and goes after the heroine. He's able to catch her in time and takes her back to the mansion where they talk things out. They are able to come back together and find out the heroine's great grandmother took the heroine to the hero's mansion when she was very little and the castle on the island is the heroine's ancestral home. The grandmother was thrown out of the castle because her marriage to the owner of the castle was never officially announced before he died from illness. It turns out that the owner has a son from a previous marriage who turned out to be the grandfather of the hero. A funny thing about fate with how they come together and it there that the two confess their love for each other and set to marry.
