Spencer Price has a hand in the robotics field, literally. But designing robotic hands costs a lot of money, so he’s helped fund his ambitions by posing for a “science hunks” calendar as Mr. December. When he’s forced to help promote the calendar, Lexi Price makes a deal with him: come to her odd family’s Christmas dinner, and she’ll vouch for what an amazing a date he is. When Price realizes that she comes from money, he thinks he may have just found the supporter he needs.

two birds one stone. 4  4

I was quite intrigued by this development of characters. We have a heroine with the usual chaotic and dysfunctional family christmas reunion and a hero whose one time way of getting money for research funds on robotic hands comes back to bite him. The heroine wants to use the hero to impress her parents who have always compared the small college piano instructor to her world famous opera singer cousin. If they're impressed then they may give the heroine a grant to refurbish the music hall at her college. The hero is trying to find a way to keep the company that paid for asking their money back. When he meets the heroine, he learns from the funny but nonverbal communications that her family has money and if they're impressed by his research then they might give him a grant for his research. It's both a two birds with one stone. Plus, they both know that the one has another intention to the bargain at hand. That is probably why I found it so interesting because they are both seeking desperately because they a lot of personal issues. The heroine's family was a curve ball at her and the hero had no family and no one to depend on. I liked the side characters as well like the heroine's roommate was quite naughty and the hero's band of nerds were hilarious to read over. I did like their interactions with each other before and after the christmas party. There are obstacles but I did like reading it.
