what a late first love! 5  5

the hero has been married and divorced twice and has a grown son. the heroine is a young virgin. what could go wrong? they decide to embark in physical relationship but it quickly turns into something more. because what we can all see except for the hero is that he's fallen in love with the heroine. i liked the progession of their relationship and the heroine putting her foot down when she thought the hero wanted to just prolong their physical relationship when he was actually offering himself to her. the ending was cute.

It was an alright story for me. The heroine is former secretary and excellent worker for the hero's father who has retired. She's always never done thing out of place nor dressed up till a plane scare propels her to take chances and make mistakes. She goes to Australia and is invited by her former boss to a party. She meets the hero and he becomes interested in her. Her costume is far different from the usual ones and he finds conversing with her engaging. They talk about the hero's past with having an adult son, (college student and hero got married at 20, so he's forty something). How he ended the marriage because he realized what he felt for the first wife was lust rather than love. He divorced her but the experience made him wary not to pursue any relationships without being careful. Then he learns of the heroine's "lose my virginity plans" and tries to dissuade her but it only pushes her to look harder. They end on semi-romantic terms but the next day, he becomes her date for a musical. When they are at dinner, the heroine tells the hero about her insecurities from pimples to today's events as a reason why she's looking to deflower her flower. The hero offers himself and she takes it. It's a no strings attached thing but the hero is unable to keep himself away from the heroine and even uses work as an excuse to keep in contact with her. He even ends things with his friend with benefits to show his commitment. It only takes one conversation for the hero to pour out his heart and admit everything to the heroine. They go on a trip to Paris that goes great till the hero tries to convey his feelings of marriage and stuff but the heroine misinterprets and thinks he's offering her the mistress deal. She goes angry argues. She confesses she's in love with him and he states it's the same for him. He gets down on one knee and asks her to marry him. She says yes and they have their wedding with everyone on the boat where they met for the first time.
