CRAZY ABOUT THE BOSS
Maddie is an assistant to billionaire playboy Jack Valentine. She has never seen him as anything but confident and skilled, but just before Christmas, Jack forced her to come on a business trip to London, where he seemed like a completely different person. It appears that meeting his family again after such a long time away has turned him into a lonely, hurt boy with a closed-off heart. Maddie feels uneasy, but at the same time, her heart begins to beat quickly in her chest…

This harlequin comic is the bible's prodigal son and the greek myth of pandora's box all mixed up with this one. The heroine is the PA to the CEO of a big company set up in New York. After the many years of working with him, she has discovered only a few personal things about him: the negative keywords are restaurant and moms, plays around with a lot of women, and doesn't talk about his family. It's not till near Christmas does she go with the hero to his birth home and meet the family where there's a lot of hostility from both sides. He's somewhat welcomed by his sister but he has his guard up and around. The whole thing takes a turn for a worse and the hero leaves with the heroine tailing behind. The situation has the hero and heroine actually open up over things and talk with ease but that ends sadly. The hero is told that his family business, a restaurant is in financial difficulty and needs help. It would be a perfect opportunity to help but the hero won't with what happened 12 years ago that nobody seems to know what happened. The heroine remains strong and pushes the hero to confront his past. It turns out to be a mess indeed that started with the hero's parents. The heroine's mother loved the hero's father but he was a man who loved many women but loved only one women who wasn't the mother. So, when the woman died, he sent the divorce papers to the mother. Hurt and angry by his cruelty, the mother destroyed the restaurant and the hero took the blame to protect her. This is all told by the mother who has healed and found new love. She also tells the hero to reconcile with his father but he refuses with to let go of the pain. The heroine tries to comfort the hero but he rejects, hurting her immensely. So, she sets to leave for New York, the next morning. The hero tries to go after but is stopped by the father who has come by to apologize for what happened all those years ago. The two of them talk it out and seem to come to an understanding and the father encourages the hero to go after the heroine. We have a confession at the airport that's very sweet and the ending page has a cute wedding on it.
