[ 3-day rental ]

There’s no denying the way his gentle eyes melt her heart, and the emotions she’d tried so hard to push back are once again coming alive…

Ellie was seventeen when she fell in love with Andrew, a handsome older boy in medical school. Though she was filled with joy when he proposed to her, she began to feel trapped by the thought of a future with him and his single-minded devotion. When Ellie was caught with another man on the day before their wedding, they canceled the wedding in heartbreak. Twelve years later, Ellie is struggling as a single mother and caring for a daughter with a serious heart condition when Andrew enters her life once again—as Hetta’s doctor. She has no right to feel regret, no right to think of him and what could have been. She was the one who ran. But why does her heart feel so unsettled?

3.5 reunion between exes 4  4

Oh, this was rather good. It’s all about two exes getting back together. So, the hero and heroine were engaged over a decade ago. However, it took one incident set off an explosion that ended their engagement. What happened is the heroine came back late from an outing with a guy. The upset hero just went off accusing her without even listening to her side of the story. His accusations irked the heroine who told him off how she wants to live and they’re only doing what he wants. They separate, marry other people, have kids, and then divorce. Unexpectedly, they’re reunited when the heroine comes to the hero’s hospital with her daughter. The little girl has a serious heart condition that needs a transplant. What I loved is how the hero helped the little girl understand it was okay to take another child’s heart. He does the surgery and everything starts looking up for the heroine who’s been through the ringer. Then receives news her apartment has burned down, leaving her desperate on what to do. The hero comes in again and offers her to stay at his place with a job posting as housekeeper. The whole living arrangement helps the two reconnect and rekindle the romance between them. It’s an extra bonus of having the heroine there ready to help the hero communicate with his little boy. It was such a sweet moment between the two. The hero takes a chance of proposing marriage to the heroine but screws it over by using the children as reason. The heroine blatantly rejects, leaving an awkward silence over the next few days. The hero tries again and he gets it right this time. We end it on a wedding and it’s a happy ending.
