Myth Busted 4  4

The old saying, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” was debunked thanks to our hero and heroine. Both meet in the city of lights, have a one-night stand, and depart on good terms. At least it should have been until the heroine sees a plus sign on her pregnancy test. She decides to meet with the hero and judge whether if it’s a good idea to tell him of his new title: daddy. Now, she travels to his company under the excuse of applying for a job, expecting to find him in the IT section with his Hawaiian t-shirt and open bag of Doritos. The heroine never thought the hero was the CEO. Their little reunion goes better than one can anticipate. And by the end of the evening, the heroine gets the job. Good thing too because her school laid her off. Her presence puts the hero out of sorts, resurfacing old feelings he had long since buried. In her time working at the hero’s company, she learns a lot about the hero. He is a workaholic who has a “No ring or kids” policy. However, as she digs deeper and deeper, she discovers the deep pain the man carries. The guy lost his parents when he was a teenager and his mother told him with her dying breath to look out for his younger brother who has a weak body (couldn’t tell him I love you or something relatively close). The brothers worked together to start up their software security company. As their success grew, so did their workload till they became extremely exhausted. The hero took a day off and didn’t even come to work, despite his brother asking him to substitute for him in a meeting since he was feeling unwell. The brother collapsed during the meeting and died on route to the hospital. The hero felt such immense guilt for not being there for his brother that he closed himself off to his brother’s family (who never blamed him for it) and became what he is today. The heroine starts to fall for the hero and the vice versa, only the hero denies his feelings since he feels unworthy. Then he finds out she’s pregnant and she leaves because he can’t move on. After her departure, he sees the project they’ve been working on in its final stage. As he watches the program, the hero finally forgives himself and makes the first step by visiting his SIL and nephew and niece. They warmly welcome him and then he sprints after the heroine. He gives her big open-heart confession then declares his love for her. She returns the sentiments and we end the story happily with a wedding. There was a bit of a bummer of no cute baby.
