Oh, magic lamp, if you grant me just one wish, please let me see him again.
Since her parents passed away, Virginia has been raising her sister alone while going to culinary school. One day at work, she finds a lost wallet and contacts the owner, who offers her a reward of five hundred dollars or a magic lamp. Virginia is intrigued by the lamp but sets aside her curiosity to make the sensible choice—cash. But when she meets the wallet owner’s son, Wilder, she is immediately infatuated with him. He’s the CEO of a computer company and stunningly handsome… Perhaps she should choose the lamp after all—her first wish would be to see Wilder again!

- A Woman Who Knows What She Wants 3

Our heroine finds a wallet that has "accidently" been dropped leading to her meeting the rich, workaholic, hero. I really enjoyed the heroine's dedication to growth and her dream of becoming a chef. Although the hero is rich his snobbishness is fairly mild for a Harlequin story. While he is pushy and proud it is clear that he is not using the heroine for his own gain or for her body. The heroine is stubborn and dedicated to her dream. She does not allow the hero to distract her from accomplishing her goals and frequently calls him out when his ego is getting too big. The hero's mother is a delight. While she is clearly scheming to find her son a companion she does so out of love and a desire for him to be happy. She also stands back and lets things take their course once the two have met. All-in-all, a great book with a strong heroine. My only complaint is that the hero's personality is a bit flat.
